The Role
The successful candidate will coach and mentor apprentices studying the Level 3 Dental Nurse Practitioner Diploma and Level 2 Functional Skills in Mathematics.
Applicants must have a minimum of five years’ experience as a dental nurse and hold current registration with the General Dental Council (GDC).
Key Responsibilities
Planning and delivering engaging classroom-based theoretical teaching
Assessing learners in practice through workplace observations and reviews
Supporting learner development, progression, and achievement
Maintaining accurate assessment documentation in line with the awarding body standards
Ensuring compliance with internal quality assurance and regulatory requirements
The successful candidate will hold a relevant assessor qualification (TAQA/A1) and a tutoring qualification (AET), or be working towards these qualifications.
Regular travel to dental practices across the North West is required. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.
Trainee Tutor/Assessor Applications
We may consider appointing to this role on a Trainee Tutor/Assessor basis. Full support will be provided; however, the cost of the required qualifications will be the responsibility of the candidate.
Important: Applicants wishing to be considered for the Trainee position must submit a cover letter outlining their motivation to become a Tutor/Assessor. Applications without a cover letter will not be considered.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
Level 3 Dental Nursing qualification (C&G or NEBDN)
Current GDC registration
Minimum five years’ experience working as a dental nurse
Awareness of current dental practices and educational methodologies
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
Desirable
CAVA and AET qualifications (or equivalent)
Experience teaching, training, or mentoring trainee dental nurses
Experience assessing skills and knowledge in line with City & Guilds standards
