Your Role
As a valued member of our clinical team, you will:
Deliver exceptional care: Provide high-quality dental hygiene and direct access dental therapy services to NHS and private patients
Work autonomously: Practise confidently under Direct Access regulations with clinical support available
Collaborate effectively: Work closely with dentists and the wider team to achieve excellent clinical outcomes
Enhance patient journeys: Deliver patient-centred preventive care, education, and treatment planning
Maintain standards: Ensure accurate clinical records and full compliance with infection prevention and governance protocols
Key Requirements
We are looking for a clinician who demonstrates:
GDC Registration: Current and valid registration as a Dental Therapist
Direct Access competency: Fully trained and competent to work under Direct Access
Experience: Minimum 3 years post-graduation clinical experience (NHS and private experience preferred)
Professional approach: Strong ethical standards, safeguarding awareness, and confidentiality compliance
Team mindset: A proactive, collaborative approach within a multi-disciplinary practice
Core Clinical Competencies
The ideal candidate will be confident in some or all of the following:
Periodontics: Scaling, RSD, periodontal charting and maintenance
Restorative dentistry: Composite work, minimally invasive approaches, crown support polishing
Endodontic & prosthodontic support: Adjustments and assistance as required
Oral surgery support: Simple extraction support and suturing experience is beneficial
Technical & Professional Skills
Excellent manual dexterity and indirect-vision proficiency
Strong infection prevention and cross-infection control practices
Accurate, compliant, and timely clinical documentation
Effective time management and treatment prioritisation
Sound clinical judgement and decision-making
Faculty-Assessed / Benchmarked Skills
You should be able to demonstrate competency in:
Clinical reasoning and judgement
Technical precision and finishing quality
Patient communication, informed consent, and education
Outcome evaluation, reflection, and audit compliance
Record standardisation and procedural governance
